Stock Market Update Tuesday March 26, 2024 The indices were modestly higher at midday, gaining roughly what they had lost yesterday. But around 3:30pm a late sell-off eradicated the gains and turned the day into a modest loser, with some big technology stocks staging reversals.
Away From Stocks: Treasury yields edged slightly lower across the curve as brisk demand characterized this afternoon’s five-year Treasury auction. WTI crude retreated below $82 a barrel, while gold ascended to $2,175 an ounce. The VIX remained just above 13.
